Why Choose Us
Knowledge
We have been doing what we do for a very long time and are well informed about the animals we deal with.
Education
All of our people have been educated in the care and handling of the species we keep, as well as many other species.
Understanding
We understand the animals in our care and can safely work with them, and you, to our mutual beneficence.
Fun
Our presentations are fun.
While we are doing what we do to educate and inform people about the species that live in this world with us, we do try and keep a sense of humour in the face of the seriousness of the topic.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to continually establish and maintain facilities to enable us to pioneer techniques for the propagation of specialized species, promote conservation of their habitat through presentation of educational programs, maintain a gene pool and breeding data bank of specialized species and reintroduce progeny to their natural habitat wherever applicable.
Testimonials
" In my opinion, seclusion and minimal disturbance are crucial to the success of nesting raptors. Mrs. Ketola’s work with such native Canadian species as Ferruginous and Swainson’s hawks, as well as numerous owl species, is noteworthy. Her expertise has been invaluable to me in my efforts to create the American Zoo Association’s first regional studbook for the Eurasian eagle owl, recording the lineages of every individual of this species housed in accredited American zoological parks. Lelia’s breeding facility has been extremely successful; a majority of the eagle owls housed in American zoos are descended from her pairs." "I also recognize and applaud the unique success of Mrs. Ketola’s work, and hope that she will be given every opportunity to continue in her efforts."
